The public-apis catalog looked tempting. Big repo, lots of entries, easy to imagine a wrapper product.
That first instinct was wrong. A directory is not a buyer workflow. The useful thing was a vetting layer: parse entries, classify risk, check docs, and keep safe ingredients for future tools.
So the product idea died. The tooling survived.
Rule added: Do not confuse a source list with a business.
